If at all possible we want to avoid the probate court and handle the matters that are determined during probate before death. Ensuring there is a designated beneficiary on all financial accounts is one important step, but even then you need to make sure title transfers on your largest assets.
Completing the Revocable Transfer on Death Deed will ensure that title to your home can pass to the intended beneficiary by simply filing an affidavit as opposed to going through the probate court.
If you own your automobile outright you can also file a Motor Vehicle Beneficiary Designation form in order to transfer the title of your automobiles upon your passing.
I can assist you with completing these forms which can help ensure that you avoid the probate court and all the associated costs with the probate process.
At this time I am unable to take on probate cases and will refer you to other attorneys within the county you reside that can help with those cases.
